Whenever someone asks I always recommend going to whichever festival is taking place during their stay, but it doesn't look like a lot it going on in November.

There is a Chrysanthemum Festival going on all month but that honestly doesn't look like a good time for anyone. There's also the Tori no Ichi Business Prosperity Fair in Asakusa where you can buy a gold rake if you so choose.

tsukiji just after dawn is a treat, every tour book itinerary mentions it and it is fun
buy the daily Tokyo Metro/Toei ticket to save yourself the trouble of navigating the three systems. I can't remember if JR Yamanote is included in it though
a late evening on Odaiba Island is special

I got bored of Tokyo pretty quick, so if you do travel around the country you should definitely take pocket shepherd's advice and see Hiroshima/Miyajima.

If you can swing it, I'd definitely recommend visiting either Tōdai-ji in Nara or Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto. You could actually see both in the same day as Kyoto is about a 45 minute train ride from Nara.

this is pretty much me. I'm leaving on Saturday. A few days in Ho Chi Minh city before doing 5 or 6 days in Tokyo, 2 days in Kyoto, 3 days in Osaka, and a trip to Naoshima.

Going to go to the Polar Bear Cafe probably! :awful: :awful: :awful:

I'm lookin for:

- coffee spots
- record stores
- beer places
- anything else ruling

Is it true that I'm not going to fit into any of the clothes if I'm kind of a average to slightly above average size american male?

Was considering onsen in Hakone. also some views of mt. fuji!

I wanted to go to either Nagasaki/Hiroshima, but they're just too far out for this plan. Plus everyone I spoke to who is from/lived in Japan said to prioritize Osaka over just about anywhere else, so we planned more days there rather than going on to Hiroshima.

Is Kyoto as boring as everyone says?

i dont understand whats great about osaka. to me its just a smaller not as good tokyo. i would absolutely go to hiroshima over osaka.

kyoto is a little boring but beautiful, and a nice contrast to the bigger cities.

yeah, I really don't know! to be fair, I think people said Osaka is where they wish they had more time (and we are spending way more time in Tokyo either way)
