I've been in Kingston for a month. Really dig it.

idk starting to feel like the city is on a major downward spiral between all the new buildings no one can afford to live in, the subway hellscape, and everything is general costing too much fucking money

all the neighborhoods I used to love seem stale. I see people walk around and wonder what they're looking for. what is worth buying into?

I was at peter luger earlier and ira, georgia, and james ate a few tables down. My gf and I were smoking across the street afterward and ira and georgia unlocked their bikes and strolled off toward the bridge. Chill summer nights in The City.

that wine bar brunette charges nyc prices for a place with rent that's probably 80% less than places in nyc. really bothered me.

considering how kingston is right off the thruway and closer by 30 min than hudson...with the stockade district and whatnot...im surprised kingston hasnt gotten bigger quicker.

stockade is pretty cool though...bsp looks like they book good bands. there's some weirdo music shops there. boitsons isnt bad.

i dont think there's any band i run into more than ylt. either ira solo or with georgia or james on the subway. it's like we listen to the same bands and go to the same shows and eat at the same restaurants.

i think i mentioned the whole band had dinner next to us at ear inn a few months back.

when thurston moore lived in nyc, id see him regularly as well. super nice every time i said hello.

Frankel's is the single worst experience I've had with credulous food media just boosting somebody's PR or whatever. Totally dogshit bagels and bread that are expensive and well reviewed because they spent a bunch to rip off the Russ & Daughters interior.

“The idea was to take places like Fanelli’s Cafe, Ear Inn, and Milady’s where the vibe is awesome, but you’re not necessarily going to get your pants knocked off by the food,” says Frankel.
