Yeah he's become one of the youtubers I watch every video that comes out. His voice sort of takes some getting used to, but I realized it's just the way he talks, not an affectation. He seems like a nice guy

Also, this is cool, a remake of Alex Kidd in Miracle World:
http://www.indieretronews.com/2018/06/alex-kidd-in-miracle-world-remake-is.html

I never played any Alex Kidd game back in the day, and they are a little fussy to really love now (imo) but they still always hit the nostalgia button for me "blue sky gaming" style.

I've got it on the Switch. I really liked it but I found it kind of hard! I need to get back into it, was truly beautiful and I loved how faithful a remake it was/that you can switch back and forth between the old graphics. It's basically the gold standard of a remake, for sure

Reactionary feelings in video games. Mostly preferring like Sonic and Alex Kidd style silly fun games with blue skies instead of endless murder sims like GTA or shooters

Basically it can be broadly broken down into:

Old games vs. New Games
Japanese vs. Western Games
Silly/Weird vs. realistic
Sega/Nintendo vs. Xbox

I would link you to the google answer but I don't like how it says "mixed-race gangsters" I can't tell if that means it's bad that they are mix-raced and I don't want to support dumb shit

I spent three hours today trying to get Wii and GameCube ROMs working on my softmodded Wii and so far only have Wii games working.

Which is a good start but I was really looking forward to the GameCube games.

I went to the Computerspielen Museum in Berlin today, but I'm still only on a tablet so I just have a link:

https://m.imgur.com/a/nGtJ98d

It has a small free arcade with Asteroids, PacMan, Space Invaders, Centipede, Frogger and Gauntlet and a few rooms set up like the 70s where you can play Pong or the 80s with Nintendo

Was surprising busy, there were a couple tours of kids i think

Speaking of, you guys fuck with CRTs or PVMs for gaming?

I grabbed this 27" Sony Trinitron this weekend and while it looks great it was a very dumb thing to do as I cannot physically lift it and I will never be able to get rid of it.

If I were to get one I'd at most get a 14" PVM for older consoles as they're more likely to last longer these days.

I have a 14" PVM but it acts a bit funky and it needs to get recapped. I have a) no car and b) no upper body strength so that probably won't happen for a long time.

I've been thinking about replaying Zelda 1 a lot recently, especially the 2nd Quest so I don't know exactly where everything is, but has anybody played any (and can recommend) any Zelda 1 romhacks?

I've played a few LTTP ones actually

I was going through some Genesis ROMs and started playing this puzzle game called Shove It because I liked the menu artwork. Needless to say it's about a knockoff Mario moving boxes and wanting more for himself.

Though I'm definitely not huge on this level that's clearly a swastika.

replaced the 72 pin connector on one of the 3 broken front loader NES's i've had laying around.
connected it to a 27" CRT via AV cables--- I've never done that before as I've been using a top loader for 25 years.

My goodness it looks incredible.

I dunno if I can tell the difference between 480i and 480p but part of me still wishes that I could hook up the Wii via component.

Things worse to have big collections of:
Funko POP
Those creepy erotic nude manga figures
Guns and heads of animals killed with guns

Yeah that’s it
