so happy for Simona

my girlfriend is a huge fan and had tears in her eyes when she won

we don't have a TV but i have a key to a local sportsbar and they let us go in at 6:30 AM today by ourselves and watch on the big screen with the doors locked

Fun game! The amount of sweat on Rafa is something to witness.

It’s insane how dominant Nadal still is on clay. Close, tight matches are obviously more entertaining but I still like watching him steamroll.

Enjoyed the fight from Thiem in this final game to delay the inevitable.

We are blessed to see such a titan who fights for every. Single. Point. It’s easy to be jaded by someone’s prolonged success— in 25 years we will look back in awe and brag to those younger than us that we witnessed it.

So no mention of federer's stuttguart win defeating grass court stalwarts Kyrgios and raonic...

My initial thought was that Rafa got the rough side of the draw, historically speaking, but Roger's got to go through a lot of big servers.

wonder how murray's gonna fare. looks like a possible match up with delpo in the third round.

novak's got an opening match against everyone's least favorite alt-right tennys player. if he loses I'll probably swear off the sport forever. novak seems like he's almost back to his pre-peak level of play.

poor stan has to play dmitrov in the opening round (or vice versa I guess if stan is on the come up)

monfils vs gasquet in the first round really speaks to their sad decline. not as sad as Tsonga, who I thought for sure would win a grand slam.

9/10 top seeds out on the women's side

i love how strange and competitive the WTA is right now - the contrast of styles and fact that basically anyone in the top 50 can probably win a tournament is infinitely more interesting than the ATP to me right now

Hsieh dismantled Halep with all sorts of crazy drop shots and weird off speed stuff today, Penko looks pretty dialed in, same with Dashka

lotta people figure it's just a formality right now for Serena but there's a few people she might have a tough time with

re. ATP i always enjoy a good Zverev grand slam burnout - Gulbis is kind of a dumbfuck tho but he's done his job and probably won't get much further

Isner, Anderson and Milos all in the final 16 always makes for an exciting time

Djokovic has looked pretty steady
