was at St. Sabina's last night, great crowd and some compelling student speakers/activists, whole lotta rhetoric against the cop academy in garfield park. first time i'd seen pfleger speak and he didn't dissapoint either. the parkland kids were there but only spoke briefly; i think they rightly hung back to let chicago's youth organizers take center stage.

i wasn't able to register that many people to vote but only because damn near everyone there was registered already, or otherwise too young to vote.

there was exactly one maga chud in the audience all in army surplus whose trump banner was quickly.... misplaced in the crowd. very cool seeing people of all stripes (white suburban-looking dads included) telling a nazi to fuck off.

and heads up, pfleger wants 1,000 people to block the kennedy on july 7.

this website is insanely extensive. there's so much info on it. crazy. not even a train dude but it's so interesting how many defunct L lines and L stations there are, and many of them left little hints of their former existence behind. this website is crazy.

its a real bummer whats been lost.

for example, you can still see where the ROW used to run from when the Douglas blue line branch existed, which went all the way to Harlem

yeah, I remember when I first moved to chicago, as some midwestern college kid, the thrill getting off at that damen blue line station that was super old and tiny and stepping out into the middle of wicker park and knowing people had been doing that exact same bit of travel for over 100 years and all that history has been photographed and documented through that time.

Shortly after that i'd eat santullos and get wasted at some warehouse party and then returning to the station the thrill at the simplicity and reliability of this train as a way to take me and the rest of the city home.

i remember they would reheat your slice at an incredibly high temperature and i'd just be sitting there starving, drunk, waiting forever for it to finally cool down enough to actually eat.

I'm hurting for NY style, santullo's was everything I needed. I'll eat dimo's when I'm in the neighborhood but they don't deliver to me.

Gonna be canvassing for sean casten in IL06 this weekend through indivisible IL. they seem to be making this a biweekly thing between now and november, so feel free to PM me for details if you're interested.

Likewise if anyone is involved in the 14th district please let me know.
