Omg, they're my favorite band. I am so jealous. Seen them six times. I didn't have money when they came to l.a. super sad.

i won’t say it was their best setlist by a long shot, but i had a great spot on the floor and they broke out 3-4 songs i’d never heard live, which was more than i could’ve hoped for. the crowd was super into it and so was the band, and i scored the sick ass t-shirt they made just for this show.

if anyone saw the jackass with his phone’s flash on for 5 seconds during Spectre, that was me (sorry)!

ah i didn't realize they made a t-shirt just for the show! i should have got it. what's it look like?

that was my first time, finally saw them. it wasn't a "great" setlist for me personally (1st night was better), but still really awesome and I'm very glad I got to see them.

the sound at MSG is not the best, but I actually thought it was pretty decent especially since as I was in the 200s. not sure if that's a shout out to radiohead, their crew, or MSG really. probably all 3 I guess

they sounded really good at the normally shitty united center too so all the credit to the sound crew getting it right

Man this is all making me wanna schlep to Montreal next week but it's just not gonna happen for a bunch of reasons.

I've been to MSG for Phish a bunch of times post-renovations and never had an issue with the sound, but they've played 56 shows there and have it fully dialed in at this point.

does anyone know why phil stopped doing those clipped and unwinding rolling fills during the climax of "optimistic"?

it continues to be jarring every time i heard them play it in recent years, like hearing the similarly distinctive fills in "leave them all behind" largely absent when ride played KEXP not long ago

i mean they might not be easy parts to play, especially those rolls in "leave them all behind," but certainly not impossible

and i feel like they're crucial to the songs

Spectre, Optimistic, Identikit

after updating my spreadsheet i've still seen EIIRP and Idioteque at all 11 shows i've been to. coming in at 9 times each are There There and The Gloaming (a song i despise but that i know they're gonna play every time i see them).

I'm pretty sure I've twice seen them start over the gloaming because they messed it up. Last time I saw them they also straight out aborted the song midway through, which worked out great for me because it's a shitty song.

thom couldn't even keep up with the beat on Wednesday because the whole song sounded out-of-time. it was a relief when it ended.

i think the gloaming is ok, and i'll take it over how to disappear, bloom, spectre, daydreaming, desert island disk, the numbers, and the overplayed EIIRP and idioteque

A couple years ago the Gloaming was fun as hell live and I looked forward to it. it'd be all quiet and then LOUD and jazzy when Thom dances and then quiet again. This time the difference was way less prounounced, it was all one tempo and volume more or less. It sucks
