Just had one a couple days ago from an authentic German Deli here. It was out of this world.

Nice! I see you are rocking both the half sour and full sour pickles.

Weirdly I think about their poster "Send a salami to your boy in the army" a lot. I wonder if you still can. Not into the military but I'm kinda down to send meat logs to troops overseas.

Cubans are good, but a Reuben is better because you commit to getting sloppy

Big fan of Cubans, too, but my heart belongs to corned beef, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing.

Love Swiss, but the cheese is the one thing I think you could substitute for a different cheese and still have a solid sandwich.

That said, when I order a Reuben in a restaurant, I go for Swiss.

Which is to say that if I have all the proper Reuben ingredients at home, but...cheddar instead of Swiss, you better believe I'm throwing down with cheddar and loving it just the same.

I would, but bear in mind I've previously consumed the Subway version of it, so I have no shame.

yeah the one at chicago diner is great iirc. effectively recreates the "i don't want to eat anything for a week" of a regular one

growing up my family was strictly corned beef, but in the last few years I finally started eating pastrami and there is no going back.

Reubens and Cubans are my top 2 sandwiches.

There's a place near me that does a smoked pastrami Reuben that is KILLER

Their Cuban looks really good too, but I've yet to try it because it's a special that's only there sometimes.
