My mom has this too.

I've had something like twenty moles removed; I lost count a while ago. All benign so far. Both of my parents have had melanoma and were successfully treated for it. So you're probably fine.

I just had a spot frozen off my head and I could only find disney, snoopy, and hello kitty band-aids in our house. I went with snoopy.

waiting for medical results is the worst. last summer i needed to get blood work done, and 2 weeks in a row, they called me up and i assumed i'd get the results. nope, each time they were calling to tell me they'd lost my blood and i'd have to come in again.

Hm so I just got a call back and apparently it was abnormal, and the doctor used a lot of words I didn't fully understand but said they couldn't rule out a melanoma, but stressed that if it was a melanoma it would be "in situ" (the least severe kind?) and said I needed to schedule surgery so that they could remove it.

I guess I was right to worry? Can someone now help me not worry about the rest of it. I'm kinda just sitting here in a bit of a daze.

Think of it this way: You're doing exactly what you should be doing. If it's a melanoma not knowing and going on as normal is worse

sorry del, that sounds really stressful. It still sounds plenty likely that it's not melanoma and if it is you caught it early and it's being taken care of
Bought this at the mall I'm gonna wear this at the mall.

I've concluded that this "sucks" but will make for a good story someday, and give me a good excuse to not go to the beach (a place I am rarely comfortable) anymore.

It's out of my leg now. More stitches than I thought there were gonna be but otherwise well worth the peace of mind/not having cancer. Would recommend! Go get your moles checked, people
