i feel like they could have gone with a significantly less ambiguous message if they hadn't felt such a strong need to make a pun

like you know if trump saw that hes gonna take it as a compliment

Jim Jordan being a horrible person has brought the "Al Franken shouldn't have resigned" people back out of the woodwork.
and many of them seem to think it was entirely because of the one photograph.

This is an insane take, if franken was still sitting reps would be attacking dems for their hypocrisy and we would as well.

Palmer/other smart boarders, can you talk about why it would be bad for the democrats to vote (and lose) to abolish ICE? If republicans are going to spin it as being called on a bluff, why not vote, lose handily and be able to show your constituents who might try to move you left that gesture? I understand why manchin and those types wouldn't vote to abolish of course. So maybe it would also create public lines of fracture in the party?

It was a bill that hadn't been whipped, the congressional Hispanic caucus won't support it because they claim they had no input, even one of the sponsors said they wouldn't vote for it. It never should have been introduced like this

abolish ice is the position of like 12 democrats in the house rn. it's not a good time to have a vote, especially ahead of an election where everyone prefers to move cautiously, it would lose big time and hurt the movement. as far as policy ideas go, it's a brand new approach, it's going to take time to litigate it.

it's standard to just reject these types of games from the majority party, see Sanders rejecting the single payer amendment in the vote-a-rama last yaer
