been listening to this a lot lately. it's a little adult-contempo but i like that about it, and her voice is so good.

thanks for the rec.
revisited this tonight after like 2 years. it's rly good - maybe better than i initially thought. "kill v maim" into the title track rips.

i remember my friends had the weirdest reaction when this album came out. i guess they didn't like that it was so poppy, and they just had such hyperbolic first takes, one of my friends told me he threw his computer out the window after listening to the first leak. but i was like "wait no this is actually really good' and then they all changed their opinions and were like "oh yeah we liked it the entire time"

admittedly, i believe it first leaked in mono(?) or something ridiculous. like some really dire rip quality.

shit cat this album and its whole vibe just finally clicked for me

still don't think the songwriting itself is particularly strong but that was never what made her great anyway

One of the songs on this came up on my Discover Weekly playlist and when I went to the artist page, I saw over in the side that it was also part of this playlist, which is how I first heard of it. So far I've only listened to this one but it's good and I plan to listen to the rest.

Funny you mention her. I remixed an acoustic demo she did of this Daniel Johnston tune.
